Don’t praise the day before it’s evening.
This is an old and true Dutch saying, only this does not apply to Iboya Triz. It cannot be praised enough and not early enough.
Different training methods
Like many other people, while working out in the gym, a little blonde woman pointed out that I was not doing something quite right and that I could do it better and differently. And she showed it to me, explaining which muscles I should want to train with my exercise and which not. I had seen her in the same gym before and my curiosity was already piqued by the rather different training methods she used.
Different from “the usual” working with machines, pumping dumbbells and doing some abdominal exercises. So yes really different. I asked Iboya for her ticket and when I read her history and background I was already sold. Why ? Because I was struggling with the sequelae of a not so pleasant back injury.
Back injury
While playing hockey with the Mapuche Indians in Chile (sounds good but read on) I had suffered a muscle / back injury that worsened during the long bus trips and backpack trekking to a hernia with failure symptoms. Running and stumbling on six aspirins a day is not something I’m proud of or want to recommend to others. Fortunately, the hernia recovered fairly quickly after returning, but I continued to have unpleasant residual symptoms. I tried to reduce these symptoms with physiotherapy, dry needling, acupuncture and training, but that did not really crescendo. Until, you already understand, I was taken care of by Iboya.
It’s her way of seeing and reasoning that is priceless and unique.
It was important to me to strengthen the back muscles. Now I can assure you that attention to the “core” is the basis of Iboya’s training. “Core” is posture as well. She has her own view on things that are unique to me. It’s not just the exercises, it’s her way of seeing and reasoning that is priceless and unique. Don’t let her playfulness fool you. Her knowledge is extremely serious and has a very broad basis, which is firmly anchored by her experience.
She discovered that I did not tighten my right buttock and back muscle enough
I especially noticed that, depending on my progress, she came up with countless variations to achieve her and my goal step by step. And make no mistake, she seems so small and compliant but the way in which she very slowly increased tempo and weight during the process is nothing nice I can assure you. She discovered that I did not tighten my right buttock and back muscle enough, which may be explained by the fact that I first consciously and then unconsciously put more strain on my herniated leg (left) than my other side (right). An imbalance arises, which can be eliminated by training.
Waking up at night from nagging pain, until now almost nothing.
Training the core has slowly diminished my symptoms, waking up at night from nagging pain, until now almost nothing. I no longer wake up now, and I can move a bosul (ball with handles) from bottom to top while standing on two balls. One of the masterpieces of balance that I amaze myself every time I can do. I will soon be able to enter the circus at my age.
So don’t price the day before it is evening doesn’t apply to Iboya in my opinion.
